Sooquna: the store builder made in Qatar.
We designed and built Sooquna in Doha so Qatari merchants can sell online in Arabic and English, take payment through local gateways or cash on delivery, ship with the couriers they already use, and keep every riyal of their sales.

Selling online in Qatar works differently.
Global store builders were made for card-first markets. In Qatar, many orders still start in an Instagram message, many buyers prefer to pay on delivery, and the gateways, couriers and language customers expect are local. Merchants were patching plugins together, or paying a cut of every sale to platforms based abroad.
Sooquna starts from how people here actually buy, and builds that in from day one.
Small sellers run their business from Instagram DMs and WhatsApp chats.
A proper store in minutes, starting with cash on delivery while the payment gateway account is being approved.
Local payment gateways and couriers are missing or need third-party plugins.
SkipCash, Sadad, Aramex, DHL and NBOX work out of the box, with MyFatoorah, Tap, Tabby and Tamara also supported.
Arabic is an afterthought: broken layouts, half-translated checkouts.
Arabic-first right-to-left storefronts, Arabic fonts, and checkout, emails and invoices in each buyer's language.
Cash-on-delivery parcels come back unpaid and cost money.
Buyers confirm on WhatsApp before the order ships, so fewer parcels return.
Platforms take a percentage of every sale and hold the merchant's money.
No transaction fee. Payments settle from the merchant's own gateway straight into their bank account.
Built for Qatar's digital economy.
Qatar's plan for 2030 asks for a diversified, knowledge-based economy led by a strong private sector. Small and medium businesses are at the centre of it, and getting them selling online is one of the most direct ways to grow non-oil trade. Sooquna is our contribution: a Qatari platform that puts local merchants online on local rails.
of private sector companies in Qatar are SMEs, around 71,000 businesses.

NDS3 (2024 to 2030) aims to raise the share of GDP that comes from small and medium businesses. Sooquna lowers the cost of going online to an affordable monthly plan with no commission, so a home business or a single boutique can compete on the web.
Digital economy pillar
MCIT's Digital Agenda 2030 names the digital economy and SME empowerment as priorities. Sooquna is a working tool for that, not a pilot.
Local platforms for local trade
MCIT's e-commerce strategy work focuses on helping SMEs build successful online stores. That is exactly the job Sooquna does.
